President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with the government on Wednesday, November 24, supported the idea to extend the validity of the certificate for those who have recovered from coronavirus to a year and develop a vaccine for children from two years old.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova proposed extending the validity of the certificate for those who have recovered. She justified the proposal by saying that the proportion of those who have been ill again is below the percentage (0.74%), but stressed that those who have had coronavirus are still recommended to be vaccinated after six months. This measure will equalize the validity period of the QR code of the vaccinated and the QR code of the recovered person (now a year and six months, respectively). “We will do so,” Putin replied to Golikova.

Golikova noted the increased incidence among children and said that on Wednesday, November 24, the Ministry of Health will register the Sputnik-M vaccine (Gam-COVID-Vak-M of the Gamaleya Center) for children from 12 to 17 years old. Up to 15 years of age will be vaccinated with the consent of one of the parents (or legal representative), over 15 years of age - with the consent of the vaccinated.

The President suggested thinking about a vaccine for children from two years old, referring to the experience of China: "As experts told me, in some other countries, in particular, in China, they have already started working on a vaccine for children from two years old."
