Executive director Kristina Kryuchkova admitted guilt and testified against university rector Sergei Zuev and the rest of the defendants in the case, an claims . Interfax source
“Kryuchkova fully admitted her part of the guilt, spoke about the scheme for cashing out the stolen money, testified against the rector of Shaninka Sergei Zuev and other defendants in the case,” the agency quoted the words of an unnamed interlocutor.
The lawyer of the rector of Shaninka, Ruslan Kozhura , said that he had not heard about this, since Zuev had not yet had a confrontation with Kryuchkova. Representatives for the other defendants did not comment.
Interfax claims that after admitting guilt, Kryuchkova was transferred from the pre-trial detention center to house arrest. The records of Moscow courts mention only one meeting at the end of September, at which she was arrested; it was appealed at the end of October.
Kryuchkova and Zuev are accused of embezzling more than 21 million rubles from the established Ministry of Education, which ordered several studies from Shaninka as part of the federal project “Teacher of the Future.”
Shaninka said that officials accepted two of the three stages of the study on the work of teachers, and when the management of the fund changed in 2020, the contract was terminated by agreement of the parties, and the university paid a penalty of almost half a million rubles. At the same time, the examination of the Russian Academy of Education, carried out at the request of the police, came to the conclusion that the work performed by the university did not comply with the technical specifications and that they could not be applied in practice.
Also accused in the case are former Deputy Minister of Education Marina Rakova and fund employees Evgeniy Zak and Maxim Inkin; they are in a pre-trial detention center. 67-year-old Zuev, who had three operations in a year, was placed under house arrest in October, and then, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, he was transferred to a pre-trial detention center.
