Searches of Jehovah's Witnesses were conducted in Karachay-Cherkessia and Stavropol

In the village of Mednogorsky, Karachay-Cherkessia, on November 23, searches were carried out at the homes of Dmitry and Ilya Pasynkov, as well as at two other religious women whose names were not disclosed. In addition, a search took place in the house of a relative of the Pasynkovs in Stavropol. This was reported on the website of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia.

A book, two flash drives and an old tablet were confiscated from the Pasynkov family. Nothing was taken from the believing women. The search was carried out without court approval, by order of the investigator. The investigation motivated this by the fact that “the search cannot be delayed.”

This is the second case of searches in Mednogorsk in a year, as noted on the website about the persecution of believers. In January, FSB officers conducted investigative measures in at least three apartments of Jehovah's Witnesses, but no criminal prosecution followed.

• On April 20, 2017, the Supreme Court recognized the “Administrative Center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia” as an extremist organization, liquidated it and banned its activities in Russia. Later, all Jehovah's Witnesses organizations were added to the list of prohibited organizations. After this, a stream of criminal cases against representatives of the confession began.
