The ECHR invited the ATS-Info to participate as a third party in the case of detained picketers

The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg on November 30 informed the ATS-Info, which satisfies the application of the project to enter as a third party in the case of activists detained on single pickets in 2020.

The lawyers of the ATS-Info will perform independent experts in the case of Viktor Nemetov, Ilya Azar and Alexander Kostyukhin , to whom the Russian court appointed arrests up to 20 days and fines up to 150 thousand rubles after single pickets. After an inconclusive appeal of these punishments, activists turned to the ECHR.

“Our task is to help the court understand Russian law and law enforcement practice regarding coronavirus prohibitions on single pickets in Moscow and other regions, where the norms are formulated in a similar way.
