An activist from the Irkutsk region stopped her hunger strike. Her supporter started the hunger strike instead

Activist from Usolye-Sibirsky (Irkutsk region) Darya Dorogova ended her hunger strike, which she started in protest against the pressure of the authorities and security forces on protesters against the introduction of mandatory QR codes. Instead, activist Mikhail Ozhiganov began a hunger strike. This was reported in the telegram channel "Irkutsk insider".

Dorogova went on a hunger strike on November 28, stating that the deputies should reckon with the people when making such decisions. Two days later, representatives of guardianship turned to her family. According to her, they called and "asked questions" about the children in the house. Later, the activist said that Ozhiganov “like a real man” took her “mission upon himself”: “Today, while in a special detention center, where he will stay for 25 days, he went on a hunger strike. I’m stopping my action and returning home to the children, ”Dorogova wrote.

On November 30, Ozhiganov, the chairman of the "Association of Entrepreneurs" and an opponent of QR codes, was arrested in Irkutsk under an article on the repeated violation of the "rally" legislation (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The reason for the administrative case was the recording of a video message against the introduction of QR codes.

Previously, he had already been detained twice because of this video and fined 150,000 rubles - according to the security forces, then he organized a protest event in Usolye-Sibirskoye with the help of a video recording. Now law enforcement officers believe that the video prompted the residents of Irkutsk to go to the rally.

On December 13, Ozhiganov ended his hunger strike, according to the @sibirmedia telegram channel.

“ I held on as long as I could ... now I can’t afford to undermine my health ,” the activist told reporters.

• On November 26, due to the recording of a video message against the introduction of QR codes, activists from Usolye-Sibirsky, Amid Rasulov, Daria Dorogova and Anastasia Yurchenko, were prosecuted under the “rally” article (Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Rasulov received 40 hours of compulsory work, Dorogova and Yurchenko received fines of 20,000 rubles each.
