The Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute, Zhukovsky’s city-forming enterprise, founded on December 1, 1918, celebrates its 103rd birthday.
“Dear colleagues, dear friends! I congratulate you on the 103rd anniversary of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky! - says the address of the General Director of FSUE TsAGI Kirill Sypalo to the employees of the institute, published on the company’s website. - Named in honor of its founder, a pioneer of domestic aviation science, TsAGI has, throughout its long history, preserved all the best that was laid down by its creators. And, giving way to the sky for all the aircraft of our country, like a confident, proud winged machine, it moves towards new horizons in the endless space of scientific thought.
Over more than a century of history, the institute has come a long way, marked by bright ups. The evolution of aviation took place within its walls - from testing the first experimental projects of enthusiasts to research into promising developments of our days. Remembering the legendary aircraft created by the best minds of our country, we mean that they certainly passed the test at TsAGI.
Today it is difficult to imagine that once the largest center of aviation science began from a small site in Moscow. And this is the same example when a sincere, selfless desire to make the world a better place, to promote progress in the interests of people, became the engine for the development of an entire industry.
The institute’s birthday is a great opportunity to talk about the main wealth of the enterprise. I'm talking about our large team of professionals: talented scientists, experienced engineers, as well as specialists from auxiliary departments, without whom the smooth operation of a huge mechanism with a wing profile on its famous logo is impossible. It is especially pleasant to see that young people are striving to work at TsAGI, in whose hands the future of the aviation industry lies. And the new generation of industry specialists has a lot to learn from the recognized experts of the institute in order to one day stand on a par with them.
The main gift for the center of aviation science is its active life, full of new projects and initiatives. And this is the channel in which TsAGI is moving today. Work on solving breakthrough problems within the framework of government contracts, future activities in the NTsMU Supersonic consortium, active participation in Russian and international industry events despite the limitations of our time - all these are touches to the portrait of a modern, dynamically developing enterprise.
There are many interesting tasks ahead, which, I am sure, will find brilliant solutions thanks to you, colleagues! Thank you for your daily work! I wish everyone inexhaustible creative energy and sincere interest in conquering new frontiers in science! Good health and prosperity to you and your loved ones!”
