“Almazova, Gorbachev, Rauhfus, the fifth, the Hospital of St. Olga,” Sonya lists the hospitals that she visited over the past three years. But Sonya is not a patient. She is a hospital fairy

“Please, coffee with milk,” Sonya makes an order at the rack. We meet during the locaun and therefore drink coffee in the wind. Sonya in a thin jacket trembles with the cold, but, telling about “her children”, she does not pay attention to anything else.
As a child, Sonya loved films about orphans. Not only the harsh Russian “Cooks” and “I trust in you” or the tearful Hollywood “White Oleander”. Even the Disney Cinderella and Snow White for her are not fairy tales, but the tragedies of her daughters left without mothers. Trying the ups and downs of the plots, Sonya assigned the role not the main character, but the fairies-cross.
- I was very sorry for these orphans, I wanted to help them. I asked my mother to adopt the child, but we did not even know where to go. Therefore, I waited impatiently when I was eighteen to take a child from the orphanage, ”Sonya says in the voice of another fabulous fairy, Din-Din.
As soon as Sonya reached the cherished figure, she got a job in the charity organization “Perspectives”. True, at first I cared not about babies, but about adults with disabilities living in the Peterhof neuropsychiatric boarding school (PNI).
Sofya photo: Lisa Zhakova for TDA teenager Sonya with a thin bone and the same mental organization was withstood what she saw in PNI, thanks to the corner of view: in each phenomenon she knows how to consider the good.
- I did not expect that there are so many people with features, because on the street we do not see them - they live in “stumps” [PNI] far from the city, from ordinary people. And they are all so kind, all so sincere, they are so drawn to the volunteers. They know that you can play with them, ”Sonya smiles.
And the long-awaited meeting with orphans took place thanks to the organization “Step towards”-Sonya became the volunteer of the boarding house in Pavlovsk. I expected to see classic Dickens, but most often the children were full, well -groomed and elegant. And I realized that the problem of orphanages is not at all in the absence of food, clothes or toys. And in a shortage of love.
Sonya briefly returned to the “prospects” - already as an assistant teacher. And then she learned about the vacancies in the project “Nursing orphans in hospitals” of the St. Petersburg Parents Regional Public Movement. And she turned out to be in her place - a deficiency of love and care for small patients with developmental features filled.
Most hospitals do not accept orphans unaccompanied. And there are no free personnel for orphanages and boarding schools, especially when you need to go for treatment from another city. To solve this problem, almost fifteen years ago, twelve-hour nursing posts appeared in several children's hospitals in St. Petersburg to care for orphans. Responsive mothers-volunteers became nannies. But the frequent change of staff did not benefit the psychological state of small patients. Therefore, since 2009, thanks to donations to the fund, professional nannies entered into business. Such as Sonya.
Sonya does not interfere with the lack of medical education. There are enough first aid courses, master classes in advanced training and experience, which colleagues from the fund and hospital personnel share with it. And her love is definitely enough for everyone.
Nikita, ward of the St. Petersburg Parents Foundation, in the hospital photo: Lisa Zhakova for TDSonya is not a luxury, but a necessity. She is nearby, when you need to regret after the injection, change the diaper in time, feed from a spoon - and hug, hug, hug. That is, to give everything that their parents give to the “home” children. Sonya has been with the child from the moment he enters the hospital before discharge - around the clock. And he does not leave him on the New Year or on his own birthday.
- He already has a difficult life and hospital environment is difficult: injections, tasteless tablets, procedures, a bunch of strangers. Let at least in the hospital have a feeling that they love him, they care about him.
Sonya does not know in advance when she is called to the hospital and how long she will spend there: the diseases have no time manager. Once she lived for three months in the clinic of the Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology named after R. M. Gorbacheva, and even during the pandemic. Sasha (the names of all children were changed at the request of the heroine. - Note TD ) was leukemia, he passed several stages of chemotherapy. The matter is not fast, they celebrated the New Year with Sonya.
“I feel calmer when my ward is nearby.” Only then I know that everything is fine with him. And everything else can be endured.
Sonya admits that due to the irregular schedule, he constantly tolerates visits to the dentist. And sometimes she just wants to go to the performance or concert. But when the ward is bad, everything fades into the background.
The hospital nanny is not only to children. Without it, all responsibility for the "state" child falls on the staff of the hospital. And he does not even have time to change the diaper in time, not only to sing a song or play.
Sofya photo: Lisa Zhakova for TDIf the child lies in the common chamber, then often nurses “throw off” the care of him for other parents. And those have their own children, their own problems. Some help, but there are other options.
“Each parent looks at the situation in his own way and does not always behave correctly,” says Sonya. -Someone begins to pamper and fill up with the toys of an orphanage baby, but you need to give love and attention. Toys are also important, but not in such quantities. Often pity comes first, and orphans already know that they were not lucky. Therefore, it is more correct to distract them from experiences, and not say: "Poor, poor you child, you do not have a mother, you have no dad." And some people do not understand at all why pay attention to the one who will soon return to the orphanage.
So the nanny immediately becomes both a nurse and a mother.
Sonya knows that orphans want to live the same life as everyone else. Therefore, it brings beautiful clothes, aromatic shampoos and delicious ones to the hospital (“if you can a child,” the caring nanny clarifies). She reads the wards of Korney Chukovsky, Agnia Barto and her beloved “Alice in Wonderland”. Together they look at cartoons and collect designers - they are doing ordinary children's affairs, which are deprived of orphans without a nanny.
- And they simply love to hug, kiss, sit on the arms. The staff of orphanages and hospitals does not welcome this, but I still hug and kiss - this is very important. Well, how is it without love?
Sony has a diploma of the artist of wood. In its lyceum of service and industrial technologies, many children from orphanages studied. Sonya is sure that communication with them also affected the choice of her - no, not a profession - calling. In the meantime, the ability to own a brush helps out in hospitals: Sonya draws with children, is engaged in art therapy and hopes that many will help not only to pass the time between droppers.
- Now creative workshops are opening for children with disabilities. Maybe in the future one of them will become an artist, ”Sonya believes.
Nikita, ward of the St. Petersburg Parents Foundation, in the hospital photo: Lisa Zhakova for TDThe needlework herself helps to distract from everyday experiences. She can paint the nesting doll with her beloved Volkhov painting, and tie the scarf, and cook aromatic soap. Sonya only heard about burning out from others, he herself has no doubt that her work is the most important and necessary.
“When I see a smile on children's faces, when they come to the hospital alone, and, having recovered, leave completely different - this is very inspiring,” says the nanny.
With children, Sony, as it should be in fairy tales, constantly occur miracles.
With two -year -old Misha, Sonya spent more than a month in the hospital. The boy was lying, with a complete hearing loss and verbal speech. Sonya says that "everyone scored on him." Not she. Sonya did the leg exercises with him, and once the baby climbed to her knees and stood up to hug her neck. Not a lying, unnecessary child, but Misha, who runs, is interested in, is interested in toys from the hospital and can develop further at his pace. The educators saw him with different eyes, but the main thing is that the child had more chances to find foster parents.
And once Sonya was in the hospital with a half -year -old Dima. There were several mothers in the common chamber. One of them saw Dima, fell in love and could no longer part with him. Now he has a family. Happy end.
For ten years, Sonin's dream of adoption also has not gone away, but the operating mode has paused it.
“Working in“ St. Petersburg parents ”, in a sense, I became a mother for all these children,” Sonya is comforted.
Sofya photo: Lisa Zhakova for TDTo go to another job - with a stable schedule, a high salary and career growth - does not even think. And between your own health or rest and sick children always makes one choice:
- I love them and I will not leave them in the world. I will devote as much time as I can.
And we are not talking about the near future, but about all life.
The only thing Sonya dreams about is to take care of animals in a shelter on weekends and someday become a child psychotherapist. But now the next call is waiting for the hospital.
While there are nannies like Sonya, children in the hospital ward are not scary and not lonely. In a very necessary project "Nursing orphans in hospitals" there are three dozen such nannies. Every month they help 150 children from orphanages in St. Petersburg and other cities. Many guys come to treatment several times and are looking forward to meeting with their “their” nanny. If you arrange a monthly donation, then orphans in hospitals will not only treat, but also hug and kiss - around the clock.
