How a volunteer project about repression became one of the main media in Russia

"OVD-info" - ten years. The human rights organization helps people who are faced with political pressure to survive all the unpleasant moments associated with illegal detentions and bring the case to the ECtHR. And there is also a bot that you probably know, which describes in detail what to do if you are detained. In the last year alone, volunteers and employees of the human rights organization went to police departments 721 times, filed 648 complaints with the ECtHR and received 60,000 calls to the hotline.

Now "OVD-info" is very difficult. After being recognized as foreign agents, they also faced the risk of liquidation of their general partner, the Memorial Human Rights Center**. How did OVD-info appear, and what happened to it in 10 years? Do they interact with the security forces? What could threaten them with the liquidation of "Memorial"?
