Residents of the Leningrad region protested against the construction of the garbage training ground

In the village of Nevskaya Dubrovka in the Leningrad Region, a popular gathering was held against the construction of a garbage training ground and a complex for processing waste at the site of a quarry. This was announced by the head of the movement "Beautiful Petersburg" Ksemiri Vranks. According to preliminary data, about 1000 people took part in the environmental action.

According to 47news, people gathered in the square near the church. Many had posters, and some residents of the village arrived on horseback. The participants in the action built in a "live shield" and chanted: "against the landfill."

The police were on the spot, but the employees did not interfere, only adjusting the actions of the inhabitants - they asked not to go out onto the roadway. During the rally, signatures were also collected against the construction of the waste processing complex.

The day before, the action against the construction of the garbage plant was held on the Karelian Isthmus in the Leningrad region. According to protesters, the environmental situation will worsen from the plant in the area, and toxic substances can fall into groundwater.

• The St. Petersburg Regional Operator for Waste Management "Nevsky Ecologically, the Operator plans to build in the Leningrad region a few waste processing complex. Some of them are on the site of the developed career "Dubrovka" in the Vsevolozhsky district. Three years are allocated for their construction.
• The Regional Committee for waste management previously sent a letter to the Nevsky Ecological Operator, in which he demanded to cancel the competition for the design of factories as premature.
