
In St. Petersburg, Ivan Gromov was detained - the former head of the Kalinin district of the city, dismissed by Governor Alexander Beglov the day before,reports Fontanka.

The reason for the detention of the official is a criminal case under part 4 of article 159 (fraud). Gromov passes the suspect in the case. According to the publication, the administration of the Kalinin district contains FSB officers who conduct searches.
Gromov worked as the head of the Kalinin district for less than a month. Prior to this, he held a similar post in the Petrograd district of St. Petersburg, which is called the estate of the former speaker of the city parliament Vyacheslav Makarov (after the election in 2021, Makarov moved to the State Duma). Prior to work in the district administrations, Gromov served as the head of the Committee for Informatization and Communications of the Administration of St. Petersburg. At that time, the city was led by Georgy Poltavchenko. Prior to work in the administration, Gromov served in the Department of Economic Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Ivan Gromov is the son of Alexander Gromov, who was Deputy Poltavchenko when the latter worked in the Plenipotentiary of the Central Federal District.
Addition: Gromov is accused of embezzlement of 250 million rubles. The criminal case concerns 2012-2016, when Gromov led the Committee for Informatization and Communications in the administration of St. Petersburg.
