In Dagestan, an activist’s administrative arrest, which he had already served, was canceled

The Supreme Court of Dagestan overturned the decision on the administrative arrest of local activist Salim Khalitov and sent the case for a new trial in the first instance, reports . Kavkaz.Realii

Khalitov was detained in Makhachkala on 14 October. He stated that he was attacked by employees of the Center for Combating Extremism, who tried to provoke a fight. On October 15, the Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala arrested him under the article on disobedience to the police (part 1 of article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for 10 days.

On October 13, the activist went out to picket near the republican government house demanding the return of direct elections for the head of the republic.

• On October 1, 2020, Salim Khalitov was detained during a solitary picket in Makhachkala. The activist and head of the local branch of the Alliance of Doctors held a picket to draw the attention of specialists who arrived in Dagestan to the problems in the work of the trauma service, as well as against the non-admission of the physician himself to check the trauma center.
• In June 2020, Khalitov announced threats from the leadership of the Republican Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics named after Tsakhaev to fire medical workers who created a trade union organization. Doctors created a trade union to "protect against the arbitrariness of officials and administration."
