Lawkoster S7 will be based in Omsk

The Russian low -cost airline Citrus, which launches the S7 Group, will be based in Kazan and Omsk. When choosing “home” airports, the market development potential was primarily taken into account.

According to Citrus, the route network from Kazan and Omsk now does not ensure the full satisfaction of demand in these cities, given their population and the economy, writes RIA Novosti. In addition, in any or other city there is still a large basic carrier.

“We see great opportunities for the development of the market in Kazan and Omsk. For example, Kazan is comparable by the population with Novosibirsk or Yekaterinburg, and the number of flights to the regions from there three to four times less. The emergence of a new airline will significantly improve transport accessibility in these cities, it will connect them directly with such points on the map, where it used to be long and difficult, ”said Grigory Davydov, CEO of Citrus.

Citrus has already begun to form crews and began a set of pilots and flight attendants for flights from Kazan and Omsk.

The carrier's route network has not yet been formed, and Citrus continues to negotiate with a number of airports.
