Smolensk activist stops hunger strike in pre-trial detention center

Smolensk activist and author of the telegram channel “We demand answers. Russia" Sergei Komandirov, who is under arrest on charges of justifying terrorism, has stopped his hunger strike. This was reported by the telegram channel “Freedom to Komandirov!”

The commanders went on a hunger strike on November 30, when his detention was extended . He demanded to be released from the pre-trial detention center and to impose a preventive measure not related to imprisonment.

Komandirov was arrested on November 7 in the case of justifying terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, in May 2021, he distributed a video on a social network “containing signs of justification of terrorism, the formation of an ideology of terrorism, a belief in the permissibility of terrorist activities,” and also called for “material support for the author of this video, who was convicted of committing a crime of a terrorist nature.” .

We are talking about the publication of a video of the web series “Judge Gramm” on VKontakte. The series plays out the trial of Putin, Peskov and Sechin with a death sentence. The recording is not considered prohibited and is available on YouTube.

• In March, the author of the series, Karim Yamadayev, was sentenced to a fine of 510 thousand rubles - the court found him guilty under articles about justifying terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and insulting a government official (Article 319 of the Criminal Code). Later, the blogger left Russia and requested political asylum in France.
