St. Petersburg philologist Kobrinsky filed a lawsuit against Kholod and the Higher School of Economics; he has already sued the publication over a text about harassment of female students

Philologist Alexander Kobrinsky filed a lawsuit against the Kholod magazine and the Higher School of Economics (HSE). this reports The publication itself ; the case file is on the website of the Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg.

The claim was registered on October 13, but on October 20 it was left without action. The defendants are the correspondent Sofya Volyanova, who wrote the text about the philologist’s harassment of female students, and the Higher School of Economics. The third person is the academic director of the Philology program at the university, Yana Linkova.

As Mediazona clarified in Kholod, the editors have not yet received the lawsuit itself. The publication suggested that the philologist’s claims may be related to a fragment of the text “The Brilliant Professor” .

In it, university staff talk about Kobrinsky’s behavior and do not recommend female students of philology programs to attend his “Summer School.”

“<…> In total, she (Linkova - MZ) received seven negative reviews; six of them describe cases of Kobrinsky’s unworthy behavior towards school participants <…> “His behavior from an ethical point of view is completely incorrect, and often ambiguous <…>,” says Linkova,” the text says.

Then Kholod mentions that Linkova and HSE School of Philological Sciences professor Oleg Lekmanov will not recommend Summer School for students to attend.

Previously, a St. Petersburg court recovered 300 thousand rubles from Volyanova because of an article about Kobrinsky.

According to the philologist, the court found accusations of sexual harassment, “all allegations of forced BDSM and violence,” “allegations of taking photographs without permission,” and information about a complaint to the dean’s office to be defamatory and untrue.

The editor of Kholod, Mikhail Zelensky , noted that Kobrinsky brought a certificate to the court stating that there were no “non-anonymous complaints” against him, while he participated in the commission for considering anonymous complaints and told the magazine about it.
