The Moscow Arbitration Court upheld Rosneft's claim to protect its reputation against RBC. This is stated in the claim card.
RBC clarified that the company went to court because of their last year article “Rosneft will sell shares in 6 projects and buy Payakha from [former Rosneft president Eduard] Khudainatov.”
The material talked about Rosneft’s plans to buy the Payakhskoye field in Taimyr from Khudaynatov and sell it shares in six of its projects.
The publication referred to a video call in which top managers of Rosneft told analysts about the deal; the company’s press service then confirmed the plans, and after the article was published, Rosneft reported on transactions to sell assets to several companies of the NNK group.
RBC did not provide the oil company's claims. According to , Rosneft demanded to remove and refute the title of the article and the phrase that the sale price of the company’s assets “will be quite low” and amount to 1-2 dollars per barrel of reserves.
The Independent Oil and Gas Company also filed a lawsuit against RBC over this article and demanded 500 million rubles from the publication, but the court rejected them in August.
