A Novosibirsk resident was fined under the article of fake news because of a post about the consequences of vaccination

In Novosibirsk, a justice of the peace fined local resident Dmitry Konoplev 15,000 rubles under the article on the dissemination of fake information (part 9 of article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This is reported by the project "Network freedoms".

against Konoplev In July, a protocol was drawn up due to a repost in a telegram chat of information about the side effects of coronavirus vaccines. He used someone else's text - presumably, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Alexander Redko - without attribution.

Konoplev was given a fine below the lowest. The court did not establish the falsity of the statement, and also considered that neither the number of views of the post, nor the absence of "negative consequences" are important for qualifying the offense.

In November, the court overturned the ruling on a fine of 30,000 rubles imposed on Konoplev and sent the case back for a new trial.
