Butina emphasized that "it has been working on this issue for a long time," since it considers it "national." The deputy promised to appeal with his initiative to the Ministry of Education, expressing confidence that her opponents "could not be."
On the eve of Butina, she published a picture with two dolls in her telegram channel, one of which was a blue -eyed brunette, manufacturing in the Russian factory "Spring", and the other - a black -skinned Barbie doll with pink hair. “As if in a couple of years, it was not found that our children are growing on not our dolls at all and take an example from them,” Butina wrote under the picture.
Maria Butina was widely known in July 2018 - after she was sentenced to 18 months in prison for illegal lobbying activities, which, by her own recognition, was oversaw the former member of the Federation Council and Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Alexander Torshin.
Six months after the verdict, Butin was deported to Russia. In her homeland, she was noted by a number of resonant actions and statements. In particular, as part of the Russia Today crew, she visited the colony of the city of Pokrov, Vladimir Region, where Alexei Navalny was serving time, calling the prison “one of the best in Russia” and entering into a skirmish with the opposition. Butina later publicly approved the actions of the Novosibirsk policeman, who shot a local resident during the detention.
In September of this year, Butina became a deputy of the State Duma: the governor of the Kirov region, Igor Vasiliev, refused her mandate, nominated in the regional list of United Russia under the first number. Butina went on the second list.
