The court ordered the Ministry of Finance to pay ₽2 million to the family of the Kaliningrada Department of Internal Affairs

The court in Kaliningrad ordered the Ministry of Finance of Russia to pay two million rubles to the family of Ivan Vshivkov, who died in the police department after the detention. Parents, widow and daughter of Vshivkova will pay 500 thousand rubles each as compensation for non -pecuniary damage. This was announced by North. Realiy by the family lawyer Vladislav Filateev.

According to him, the family does not yet know whether it will dispute this decision. The lawyer refused to voice the amount that relatives initially asked in the lawsuit. The mother of the deceased, Olga Shvivkova also did not name the amount originally indicated in the lawsuit, noting only that she was more than the one appointed by the court.

Vshivkova also added that on January 21, 2020, a cassation was appointed in the main case: the family requires toughening punishment for police officers.

• The 36-year-old resident of Kaliningrad Ivan Vshivkov died in the police department on the night of October 20, 2019. He received multiple burns with boiling water from the battery broken by him in the chamber. The criminal case was opened against two policemen, who was on duty on the night of the death of Vshivkov, Nikolai Plebukh and Alexander Ivanov. In court it turned out that they knew that the detainee broke the battery in the cell, from which boiling water was pouring, but did not help him. After the arrest, the police were fired.
• The court sentenced the Plebukh to 2.5 years in a general regime colony, Ivanov - to 2 years. They were found guilty of negligence, resulting in the death of a person by negligence. They also prohibit them to work in law enforcement agencies within two years after serving the sentence. The mother of the deceased Olga Vshivkova believes that the actions of the ex-police should be re-qualified to murder committed in respect of a person in a helpless state, with particular cruelty, a group of persons.
