" Shemyakin in the art landscape " Lyubov Gurevich “In the book of Lyubov Gurevich before us appears the whole color of the Leningrad underground artistic party of the second half of the 20th century. The central person is Mikhail Shemyakin, an artist and sculptor, now recognized by everyone, but in the post -war period persecuted by fate. He was expelled from the circuit , the exhibitions were arrested, the work was confiscated, he had to work as a watchman, a postman and rigging, until he was expelled from the USSR in 1971 after forced treatment in a mental hospital. Nevertheless, his life in Leningrad in the 1950s and 1960s is full of amazing perky, creative, sometimes drunk and rampant, stories and meetings, excitingly described on these pages. The work of the House of the Hermitage, the communication of artists with collectors, the interaction of the art world of our city and Moscow are shown here through the prism of the Shemyaki biography. ”
" Historical miniatures " of August Strindberg “With this collection of translations of the classic of Swedish literature, I really want to highlight the whole series“ New translation ”of the publisher. In addition to Strindberg, the translator Valery Hammer re -presents the Russian -speaking readers of Goethe, Brecht, Leopardi, Moravia (look for them in other books of the Borea publishing house). In this book, historical characters grow in front of us, whether it is atilla, Peter the Desert or Voltaire, who create a story in household innovation, saturated with romantic ideals. As Alexander Blok said: "Strindberg's legacy is open to the cheerful and rebellious youth of all countries."
" Architecture inspired by space " by Vladimir Ivanov “This legendary album, unfortunately, ended almost everywhere and has become a real rarity, but still you can’t help but mention it in this collection. This short, but perfectly illustrated review of more than 50 futuristic buildings from the entire post -Soviet space can fall in love with everyone into the architecture of modernism and inspire on a trip to the most remote corners of Russia and the CIS countries. Here are the buildings of circuses and cinemas, and the “temples” of science, and kindergartens, and the bureau of ritual services created in space style. Having opened this book, you will forever forget the myth of the inexpressive late Soviet architecture and penetrate the broken lines and forms of architecture of the golden era of astronautics. ”
