
By December 16, 25 cases of infection with the Omicron-Skamm of Coronavirus were identified in Russia, including cases of disease in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, her words are given by Interfax.
In addition to St. Petersburg, Omikron was identified in Moscow, the Moscow Region and Rostov-on-Don. According to Golikova, people who found a strain are under medical supervision. Those who arrived in Russia from South Africa and bordering the republic of countries are on isolation in observators.
Golikova added that the complexity of the situation with coronavirus in Russia is associated with high average daily incidence rates and the spread of Omicron-Stamma. According to her, "it is impossible to avoid increasing this situation taking into account large cross -border movements and New Year's holidays."
The first two cases of infection with Omicron-Smam were recorded in Russia on December 6. On December 13, it was already about 16 cases.
