The Supreme Court of Crimea recognized the administrative arrest of Crimean Solidarity coordinator Mustafa Seydaliev as legal. Crimea.Realities reported this.
Seydaliev was arrested for 10 days because of a video posted on VKontakte in 2012. The activist was charged with distributing extremist materials (Article 20.29 of the Administrative Code). His lawyer Lilya Gemedzhi noted in a conversation with the publication that at that time the jurisdiction of another state was in effect on the territory of Crimea, therefore bringing him to justice is illegal. In 2016, Seidaliev lost access to the page and was unable to delete the post.
- Mustafa Seydaliev was detained at the exit from the special detention center, where he was serving a previous arrest - under the article on mass gatherings of citizens (Part 1 of Article 20.2.2 of the Administrative Code). The reason for the protocol at that time was the participation in the meeting of lawyer Edem Semedlyaev, who was also placed under administrative arrest.
- Lawyer Edem Semedlyaev was arrested for 12 days after he arrived on October 25 to defend activists detained near the building of the Crimean Garrison Court. They gathered to listen to the broadcast of the appeal hearing on the Red Guard case of Hizb ut-Tahrir. When Semedlyaev was talking with the detainees, police officers tried to take one of them away. Then the lawyer told them that he would record what was happening on a tape recorder. An operative of the Center for Countering Extremism demanded that he stop filming. Semedlyaev tried to explain that he had not yet started filming anything, but the officer nevertheless drew up a report on him.
- More than 150 Crimean Tatars gathered to greet Edem Semedlyaev at the exit from the special detention center on the evening of November 23. The policedetained more than 30 people; they were subsequently fined and arrested.
