At the very end of the year, the courts at an accelerated pace try to deal with all the “loud” and “uncomfortable” cases. They make decisions, as a rule, quietly, while the people are busy with New Year's concerns. Now it is especially easy to do when the courts still do not let the press and the public, attributing everything to covid restrictions. This week they announced the verdict in the "Ingush case". In the near future, the judges will make a decision in the case against Yuri Zhdanov, the father of the director of the FBK (recognized as extremist, prohibited in the Russian Federation and is included in the list of “foreign agents”) Ivan Zhdanov and historian Yuri Dmitriev. The fate of the Memorial will also decide soon (included in the Ministry of Justice on the list of NKO-Agents). And we will fix all these events in our "Chronicle of current repressions."

The case of Khovansky

Two witnesses in the case of Blogger Yuri Khovansky, a defendant in a criminal case on the justification of terrorism (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code), may be associated with the police. In addition, the journalists of the publication noticed that the user with the nickname, who Bakulin used when registering on Facebook, spoke in 2017 at the Police-russia.ru forum-was looking for work by the operative.

Memorial case

The Tver Court of Moscow fined 500 thousand rubles of the Memorial PC for the lack of marking the foreign agent in the public offer agreement on the OTD-Info website ( included by the Ministry of Justice in the list of NPO-“Inoagents” ). The organization was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 19.34 Code of Administrative Offenses (production of NKO- “foreign agent” of materials without appropriate marking).

The case of Lilia Chanysheva

Voronin noted that he defends the ex-head of the FBK Zhdanov, but the opposition did not testify in the Chanysheva case. “The challenge, obviously, is aimed at ensuring that the Lilia case is discussed as little as possible in the media,” the lawyer believes.

The case of Ivan Safronov

The case of "Network"
