Yandex finally bought out Uber's shares in Yandex.Food, Lavka, Delivery and the unmanned direction

Yandex closed a $1 billion deal to buy out Uber's stake in Yandex.Food, Lavka, Delivery, and unmanned vehicles, and also increased its stake in the combined company Yandex.Taxi and Uber (technical name MLU. BV) up to 71%. The rest of the company will be able to purchase within two years.

The transaction was carried out in two stages:

  • at the first, Yandex brought its share of ownership in the business of unmanned vehicles and rovers to 100%, and also acquired a 4.5% stake in the Yandex.Taxi joint venture from Uber, including shares reserved for the options program.
  • at the second, he completely bought out Uber's shares in Yandex.Food, Lavka and Delivery.

The total amount of the transaction was $1 billion. Within two years, the company will be able to acquire the remaining share of Uber in MLU at a price fixed in the range of $1.8-2 billion.
