Philanthropist, enlightener, ascetic, faithful servant of progress. About this now in almost every post in my Facebook tape. That's it, orphanes, of course. And it is clear that the age is venerable, and life behind was not at all covered with rose petals, but still woeful ... because how without Zimin?

A cozy office on a lighthouse, on the wall a TV with a constantly working channel - sea landscapes one after another. “You know how it calms, I love to look at this beauty.” I can’t remember when we met ... But at the time of the creation of “solidarity”, that is, from the year 2006-2007, we already talked regularly. And during the period of “exacerbation of the class struggle” (2011-2012), almost every week. He called and muttered into the phone: “Well, where did you go? Come on, come tomorrow, tell me what and how ... ”Listened carefully, marked something in a notebook, then he began to ask questions. He meticulously and meticulously questioned all the details and details. And what did this say? Why did you make just such a decision? And what number of votes was it accepted? And who voted like? Well, he gave money, of course. That's how much it was necessary, he gave so much, did not bargain ... What to keep silent about it now.

And Dmitry Borisovich, along with his son Boris, helped the "daily magazine." And, if it were not for the help of this family, then after Roskomnadzor banned us in 2014 and we lost almost all advertisers, we would definitely not have been able to save our publication. But in this sense we are not at all unique - do not count people and institutions in Russia, which was supported by Dmitry Zimin.

And Zimin was a very modest and even shy person. He never protruded his role in any business, even vice versa: he tried to level her all the time. Once he told me: "I am the same as you are all guys, just rich."

Dmitry Borisovich perceived the public rise in 2011–2012 with the greatest enthusiasm. After a large rally on Sakharov, he, as it were, quickly dropped: "What, maybe I will still live without these ... what do you think?" Of course, I began to convince him that in the construction of the new Russia he would take the very direct part. Because how without Zimin? It didn’t work out, we couldn’t, forgive us, Dmitry Borisovich ...

How wonderful that today all normal people in Russia are grieving. It is wonderful that everyone recalls Dmitry Borisovich, Vimpelcom, and the Dynasty Foundation, and the Enlightener Award and many other projects and undertakings of this amazing person. And I'm still waiting for him now he will call and grumble in the phone: “But how much can I praise me? Enough already! Tell everyone to stop "...
