The Cassation Court approved the verdict on the "Dadin" article of the ex-head of the Arkhangelsk headquarters of Navalny

The third cassation court of general jurisdiction in St. Petersburg left unchanged the verdict of the ex-head of the Arkhangelsk headquarters of Navalny Andrei Borovikov, who was appointed 400 hours of compulsory work on the “Dadinskaya” article (Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the OTD-Info by the wife of activist Daria Borovikova.

Borovikov took part in a meeting on video conferences from the pre-trial detention center 1 of Arkhangelsk, where he was transferred in the middle of the month.

• On September 27, 2019, Borovikov was sentenced under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code (repeated violations of the established procedure for holding the action) - he was sentenced in the form of 400 hours of compulsory work. A criminal case was opened after the activist’s participation in a peaceful protest against the construction of a garbage training ground at ShiES station. The court of appeal in November refused to tighten the verdict contrary to the requirements of the prosecutor's office.
• On April 29, 2021, Andrei Borovikov was found guilty of the distribution of pornography (paragraph “b” of part 3 of article 242 of the Criminal Code) due to the Rammstein “Pussy” clip and sentenced to two and a half years of the colony. According to investigators, in 2014, Borovikov published on VKontakte a video containing “naturalistic scenes with the image of sexual intercourse, with a visual demonstration of genitals”. On July 15, the Court of Appeal reduced the punishment of Borovikov to two years and three months in prison.
• Amnesty International considers both criminal cases that were initiated against the activist, revenge for his social activities. The human rights organization recognized the pursuit of Borovikov politically motivated. The director of the Russian representative office of the organization Natalya Zvyagina notes that Borovikov’s opinion “often diverges from the position of executive branch, and some representatives clearly do not like his criticism.”
