The GitHub IT service was fined a million rubles due to the lists of "smart voting"

The Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined the GitHub IT service for one million rubles due to the refusal to delete the lists of “smart voting”. About this writes "Mediazona" with reference to the press service of the court.

GitHub found guilty of the failure of prohibited information (part 2 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The protocol for the service was drawn up in November.

• The Smart Voting website was blocked on the eve of the elections in 2021. In Roskomnadzor, it was considered that the site "is used to continue the activities and conduct measures of an extremist organization." Probably, we are talking about the headquarters of Navalny and the FBK recognized as extremist.
• Courts impose millionth fines on sites due to failures to delete the forbidden content. In November, Google was fined two, and Telegram - for four million rubles under Part 2 of Art. 13.41 Code of Administrative Offenses.
