In the Novgorod region, Deputy Prime Minister Timofey Gusev resigned of his own free will. This was reported by the head of the press service of the administration of the region Nikolai Shestakov.

"Any position in the Novgorod government, especially the position of deputy chairman of the regional government, is not a privilege, but a great responsibility to people. Even during non -working hours," Shestakov wrote.
Gusev on the evening of December 22 came to the meeting "Novgorod evenings", where an employee of the Novgorod State Museum-Reserve Vladimir Barnayev talked about the history of the city. At the meeting, Gusev began to swear obscenities, insult those present and demand to give him a microphone, since he works in the government of the Novgorod region. This became known thanks to Barnaev, who described the story on his VKontakte page.
Now Barnaev’s post is not available. On his page, he wrote that he deleted the record "by his decision", because "the person, because of which the post was written, apologized, apologized sincerely, and was ready to publicly apologize, and asked to remove the post."
Timofey Gusev wrote on his Facebook page that he personally apologized to Barnaev. “I consider it necessary to once again bring public apologies to him (Barnaev - Wed) and people to whom this situation brought unpleasant emotions,” Gusev wrote.
Gusev worked in the government of the Novgorod region since 2010. Prior to this, he led the Novgorod Department of the Russian Post, worked as deputy and first deputy head of Lyubotinsky district, the head of Lyubotinsky district.
