The court dismissed the fraud case against colleague FSB Colonel Cherkalin

The Moscow Garrison Military Court dismissed the case of especially large-scale fraud (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code) against former employee of the FSB department “K” Andrei Vasiliev due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. this reports correspondent An RTVI from the courtroom.

The prosecutor's office supported the defense's request to dismiss the case. “The court also decided to lift the seizure of Vasiliev’s property and return material evidence and seized funds to him. Vasiliev was also charged procedural costs for the examination to the federal budget,” notes RTVI .

According to investigators, in 2011, Vasiliev, together with the head of department “K”, Colonel Kirill Cherkalin and his deputy Dmitry Frolov, forced two entrepreneurs to re-register part of the construction company “Yurpromconsulting” to partners of the security forces.

Cherkalin and Frolov are also accused of receiving bribes in the amount of 850 thousand dollars (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code) for “general patronage” of the Transportny Bank. Cherkalin pleaded guilty and received seven years in a maximum security colony. Frolov has not yet been sentenced.
