In Cheboksary, on December 29, security forces conducted a search at the home of activist Alena Blinova. Mediazona reports this.
Police arrived at the apartment around 7:30 am. Then Blinova was there with her 12-year-old son Mikhail. After some time, the activist left, telling the police that she needed to go to the hospital. While the woman was not at home, Mikhail’s equipment was confiscated and they offered to exchange it for his mother’s phone. However, the boy did not know where he was.
When Alena Blinova returned to the apartment, she was detained under the article on participation in the activities of an extremist organization (Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code) - the investigator informed her daughter Anastasia about this by telephone. She was not told what exactly the persecution was connected with.
15:05 Alena Blinova is under recognizance not to leave the place, writes Ufa activist Olga Komleva on her Twitter.
18:25 The former head of Navalny’s headquarters in Cheboksary, Semyon Kochkin, said on Twitter that Blinova is accused of participating in the “Artpodgotovka” movement banned in Russia. The activist is considered a suspect.
