The Ministry of Justice recognized Shenderovich, Tolokonnikova and the founder of the publication “Kholod” as foreign agents.

On December 30, the Ministry of Justice updated its register of media-foreign agents - it included eight more individuals, including writer Viktor Shenderovich, Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and founder of the Kholod publication Taisiya Bekbulatova.

New on the list:

• Writer Viktor Shenderovich (recognized as a foreign agent)
• Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova (recognized as a foreign agent)
• Pussy Riot member Veronika Nikulshina (recognized as a foreign agent)
• Editor-in-Chief of Kholod Taisiya Bekbulatova (recognized as a foreign agent)
• Gallery owner Marat Gelman (recognized as a foreign agent)
• Radio Liberty correspondent (recognized as a foreign agent) Ivan Belyaev (recognized as a foreign agent)
• Sever.Realii correspondent (recognized as a foreign agent) Elena Vladykina (recognized as a foreign agent)
• Andrey Alekseev (recognized as a foreign agent)

The Ministry of Justice explained the inclusion in the list of new persons by the fact that all "the indicated persons systematically distribute materials for an indefinite number of persons, while receiving foreign funding."

The total number of media-foreign agents entered in the register has reached 111, more than 90 of them were added in the outgoing 2021.
