The Weeknd Releases New Album 'Dawn FM' Featuring Tyler, The Creator, and Jim Carrey

Canadian musician The Weeknd , the author of the song "Blinding Lights", which Billboard named "the best song of all time" in November 2021, has released a new album, "Dawn FM". It consists of 16 tracks (including the disco "Take My Breath", released in August 2021). The recording features 88-year-old American composer, trumpeter and winner of 27 Grammy awards Quincy Jones, rappers Tyler, The Creator and Lil Wayne, electronic musician Oneohtrix Point Never, and actor Jim Carrey.

Carrie's voice is heard in the interludes between some songs (and in the album's promo video ), impersonating the host of radio station Dawn FM. Specifically, Carrie says, "You're listening to 103.5 Dawn FM. You've been in the dark for too long. It's time to step into the light and embrace your destiny with open arms."

"Dawn FM" is The Weeknd's fifth album. His previous one, "After Hours," was released in March 2020 (the songs "Save Your Tears," "In Your Eyes," and "Blinding Lights" became hits). Critics have already called the new album "the first great album" of 2022 and " the soundtrack to the most f*****g [best] night of your life."

The album cover features The Weeknd with wrinkles and gray hair, an image he previously wore in the album trailer.
