
Western observers drew attention to the fact that the corresponding paragraph of the Charter of the CSTO on the possibility of providing military assistance to the Member State of the organization in the Fors-Major situation was used for the first time since the creation of this organization. In this regard, concern is expressed by the possibility of re -use of the same point in relation to other situations and countries, primarily the region of Central Asia.
Well, I share this concern. The already consistent sending of the CSTO peacekeepers to Kazakhstan, of course, is a risky action taking into account the past “credit” history of “limited contingents of the Soviet troops” sent to Eastern Europe and especially to Afghanistan and partly of the two Chechen wars of Russia, in which the Russians fought with the non -Russian ones who did not want to be part of Russia.

Kasim-Zhomart Tokaev understands this well, so after turning to his people on January 7, he wrote separately on his Twitter that the CSTO peacekeepers came to the country for a short while. He certainly needs to replace the inflammation of anti -Russian sentiments, first of all, among Kazakh youth, absolutely post -Soviet generation, born after the collapse of the USSR, initially perceived his country as a sovereign state.
