The United States has withdrawn its request for the extradition of Russian DJ Denis Kaznacheev from Germany. The musician was cleared of money laundering charges

The US Department of Justice dropped all charges against Russian DJ Denis Kaznacheev and withdrew the request for his extradition from Germany. This was told by the manager of the musician Deniz Gluk. She thanked everyone who supported Kaznacheev for the last year and a half.

The defense was informed about the withdrawal of the extradition by the German prosecutor who dealt with the case of Kaznacheev, told TASS. Ivan Melnikov, vice-president of the Russian branch of the International Committee for the Protection of Human Rights,

“All the accusations against him looked absurd. Given that Denis is a simple musician who does not have any skills in economics, information technology, who periodically borrowed money from friends to live on, it was rather strange to accuse him of being involved in multimillion-dollar embezzlement, ”he said.

• German police detained Russian musician and DJ Denis Kaznacheev, who lives in Berlin, in May 2020. He was accused of fraud and laundering more than one million dollars on the dark web in 2010-2020.
• Kaznacheev denied guilt. DJ's lawyer Jonathan Burmeister claimed that someone used a photo of Kaznacheev's passport to open accounts through which they laundered money.
• A month and a half after his arrest, a court in Berlin released Kaznacheev on bail of 20 thousand euros, and in November 2021 decided to extradite him to the United States.
