Vasily Kuksov, a defendant in the Network case, was cured of tuberculosis

The defendant in the Network case, Vasily Kuksov, was cured of tuberculosis. This was reported in the RUPRESSION telegram channel with reference to the prisoner’s mother.

Medical workers from medical correctional institution No. 3 in the Nizhny Novgorod region told Kuksov about his recovery, citing the results of examinations.

Kuksov fell ill with tuberculosis during the investigation at the end of 2019. Since the end of 2020, he has been in LIU-3 of the Nizhny Novgorod region, where he was transferred from the Nizhny Novgorod pre-trial detention center.

• The court found Vasily Kuksov guilty of participation in a terrorist community (Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code) and illegal possession of weapons (Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code). He was sentenced to nine years in a general regime colony.
• A criminal case against the “terrorist community “Network” was opened in October 2017. According to the FSB, 11 young people in Penza and St. Petersburg organized the terrorist community “Network” and were planning to overthrow the government.
• In February 2020, a court in Penza sentenced seven anti-fascists in the case of a terrorist community to terms ranging from 6 to 18 years. The appeal court upheld the conviction in October.
• The defendants in the case, including Shakursky, Pchelintsev, Chernov and Sagynbaev, alleged psychological pressure, electric shock, beatings and planted weapons.
