A report was drawn up against a resident of Kirov because of a poster in support of Kazakhstan

In Kirov, the police came to the house of a local resident Svetlana Marina. The security forces drew up a protocol against her because of the picket, at which the woman held a poster with the inscription "NO to repressions, to the entry of troops into Kazakhstan." Marina herself informed OVD-Info about this.

The protocol was drawn up under the article on the violation by the organizer of the action of the rules for holding a picket (Part 1, Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The police explained their decision by the fact that the poster allegedly did not correspond to the topic stated in the picket notification.

Marina held a picket on 6 January. Another Kirov activist, Vadim Ananyin, came out with the same poster that day. On January 14 , he was found guilty of repeated violation of the rules for participating in actions (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and was arrested for five days.

The government of Kazakhstan has resigned. On January 5, authorities declared a state of emergency throughout the country. The President of Kazakhstan appealed to the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization with a request to send troops to suppress the unrest. On January 6, the countries that are members of the CSTO (in particular, Russia) sent military personnel to Kazakhstan.
