The quarantine period for those infected with coronavirus is reduced to 7 days

The quarantine period for Russians with COVID-19 will be halved - from 14 days to 7, said the head of the operational headquarters Tatyana Golikova. She also announced other new changes for citizens that will appear in the coming days.

At a meeting of the Presidium of the Government Coordinating Council for Combating Coronavirus, Golikova announced that Russia would reduce the time spent in quarantine for COVID-19 patients.

According to her, the authorities will monitor the situation and, if necessary, adjust the deadlines. Prior to this, in the fall of 2021, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, reduced the maximum time for citizens to receive the results of a PCR test for COVID-19 from 48 to 24 hours.

Golikova said that while the delta strain continues to dominate in Russia, it accounts for about 60% of infections. However, not all regions have the same statistics. Today, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that omicron already dominates in the capital, and in the coming days a new strain will completely replace the delta.
