A court in Simferopol fined two Crimean Tatars who were previously found innocent

The Central District Court of Simferopol fined two Crimean Tatars who were detained on October 25 at the court before the start of the broadcast from the hearing on the Hizb ut-Tahrir case. It is reported by "Crimean solidarity".

Aider Gemedzhi and Eskender Saliev were found guilty under the article on the simultaneous mass stay of citizens (part 1 of article 20.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). They were fined 10,000 rubles.

Earlier, the court stopped the proceedings in their case due to the lack of corpus delicti. After that, the police filed an appeal, and the Crimean Supreme Court granted it. The ruling stated that the court did not take into account other evidence and did not call the officials and witnesses who testified in both cases, so they were sent for review. At the same time, police officers and witnesses did not come to the meeting. The hearing in the case of Saliev took place without his participation, although the man warned the court that he would not be able to come because of the child's illness.

• On October 25, police officers detained 21 people near the building of the Crimean garrison military court before the start of the broadcast from the meeting on the appeal against the sentence of the defendants in the Red Guard case of Hizb ut-Tahrir. They were charged with violating the decree of the head of the region "On the introduction of a high alert regime on the territory of the Republic of Crimea."
• Rustem Emiruseinov, Eskender Abdulganiev and Arsen Abkhairov, defendants in the Red Guard case of Hizb ut-Tahrir, were detained in Crimea as a result of searches in February 2019. Since then, until the verdict, they were in custody. On November 3, 2020, they were sentenced to 12 to 17 years in prison on charges of involvement in a terrorist organization. On November 1, 2021, the court of appeal upheld the verdict.
• Hizb ut-Tahrir has been declared a terrorist organization in Russia. Its participants are accused and sentenced to real terms only on the basis that they met in apartments, read religious literature and recruited new participants. According to the Information and Analytical Center "Sova", the party is recognized as terrorist in Russia unlawfully.
