The court in Lipetsk did not resume the previously dismissed case of a meeting participant against QR codes

The Lipetsk Regional Court upheld the decision to dismiss the case of Maxim Markov, who participated on November 9 in a meeting about the potential introduction of QR codes. This was reported to OVD-Info by lawyer Vladimir Bilienko, who represented Markov's interests in court.

The police, who did not agree with the decision of the first instance, demanded to resume the administrative prosecution. The police also appealed against the dismissal of the cases of the meeting participants Tatyana Platonova and Anzhela Selyukova, the regional court will consider these complaints later.

The Sovetsky District Court of Lipetsk dismissed cases of violation of the rules for participation in a public event (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) against Markov and Platonova on December 22, 2021, and against Selyukova on December 24.

On November 9, 2021, all three, as well as Andrey Novikov, were detained by the police in Lipetsk on Lenin Square, where they had gathered to discuss the hearing of the bill on QR codes in the local parliament.

January 27 15:30 The court also approved the dismissal of the cases of Selyukova and Platonova. Their interests in court were represented by lawyers from OVD-Info Yulia Zatonskaya and Maxim Zolotarev.

• On November 12, 2021, the State Duma proposed using QR codes with information about vaccination against coronavirus or medical documents to visit public places, travel by rail and air travel. Regional authorities will have to determine exactly where QR codes will be required. Many residents of Russia did not agree with this initiative, and protests began in a number of cities.
