The capital of the Komi Republic, which built up with typical panel houses since the 1960s, only at first glance seems to be an average provincial town. If you look a little, then there, then you can see on plain panels bizarre national patterns and monumental Soviet panels. These ornaments on the buildings, which in the greatest quantity can be observed in the microdistrict of the orbit, have already become the subject of special pride for local residents, although the names of the architects who created them were lost in history.
Special correspondent of Medusa Andrei Peretsev and photo editor Ekaterina Balaban are told in the podcast “Text of the week” about her trip to Syktyvkar and impressions of local panels.
