The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case because of the death of a seven-year-old girl in the village of Dombn in the Chita district of the Trans-Baikal Territory.

The governor of the Trans -Baikal Territory Alexander Osipov met with the residents of the village : he expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased girl and promised to achieve changes to the federal law that regulates the capture of hopeless animals. “Unfortunately, there are flaws in the law that do not allow us to remove dogs from the streets of settlements. I talked about this more than once. We will turn to the Federal Assembly, the State Duma, the Russian government with a request to change this law, ”he said.

Osipov promised that the dogs from the village “would be promptly removed”, and the dark streets would be equipped in street lighting in the near future. Special attention will be paid to the graph of garbage, which is one of the reasons for the accumulation of hopeless dogs, the governor’s press service said.

The authorities instructed to pay material assistance to the family of the deceased girl, as well as pay for the costs associated with the burial of the child.
