The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow fined Pavel Popov 10,000 rubles for holding a picket on Red Square. This was reported by the lawyer from OVD-Info, Nikita Spivak, who represented the interests of the activist in court.
The court found Popov guilty under the article on violation of the rules for participation in the action (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
On January 18, Popov took to the square with a poster “Freedom to Alexei Navalny and all political prisoners. FREE NAVALNY! He was detained and taken to the department for the Kitai-Gorod district, a lawyer from OVD-Info, Alexander Salamov, came to the rescue.
