In the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege" the exhibition "Viktor Tsoi" was opened. The hero’s path ”, dedicated to the upcoming 60th anniversary of the rock musician. On an area of 3,000 square meters, almost the entire material heritage of the “movie” leader is exhibited - from guitars and the paintings written by him to kimono and cosmetic bags. Denis Boyarinov walked through her halls and thought about whether Tsoi is the hero of our time.
“I am interested in blockbusters, explosion projects, wow projects ,” said Alexander Tsoi at the opening of the exhibition, her creative producer and the only child of the leader of Kino. Thus, he explained to reporters why, from many proposals to arrange an exhibition about his father, he agreed precisely to the one that came from the Planet9 Bureau. “Victor Tsoi. The hero’s path ”really resembles a blockbuster - such large -scale and spectacular exhibitions about musicians in our country have not yet been made. In 11 spacious halls located near the Kremlin walls, an unprecedented number of exhibits related to the famous rocker, whose songs remain popular and 30 years after his death, were collected. The project budget is comparable to the movie budget: a grant from the presidential fund of cultural initiatives with a size of 37 million rubles won its implementation Planet9 . However, according to one of the co-founders of the Bureau of Alexander Karmayev, this was not enough at half the costs, which means that the total cost of the exhibition was somewhere at $ 1 million. And the truth - wow!
The creators of the exhibition determine its genre with another word from the vocabulary of film producers-“Bayopic”, that is, a biography film. Alexander Tsoi has personal motives to make his own Bayopic about his father - he with all his might opposed the film by Alexei Teacher “Tsoi” (in which the musician appears only in the name and on the poster), but did not go out in this struggle the winner. The exhibition in the Manege is represented by the image of the leader of Kino, who suits all his heirs and family members - son, father of Robert Maksimovich and last wife Natalia Razdogov, who provided most of the exhibits. According to legend distributed by the organizers, Razdogov, who previously avoided participating in any memorial projects dedicated to Tsoi, unpacked the box with the musician’s things for this exhibition, which stood sealed from the day of the Tatupa river. In addition, the Planet9 bureau attracted people who knew the musician well and friends with him: American Joanna Stingrey, who told the Leningrad Rock to the whole world , director Rashid Nugmanov , who shot Tsoi in the main role in the film “Igla”, and the journalist and impresario Joel Bastener, who organized the first gestures of Kino Kino In France. The curator of the exhibition was the journalist Dmitry Mishenin , in the portfolio of which there was already one (and good) exhibition about the frontman "Kino" - charming "Tsoi. Summer will not end ”in the St. Petersburg Kgallery , where the rocker was first shown not the hero of the myth and the subject of the cult, but by a private person - a simple, modest and cheerful person who loved fishing and painted comics. The exhibition in the Manege unfolds this plan into the larger square, using genuine artifacts from the world of the musician. Here is Tsoi-Meloman with an entrepreneur’s tenant-look at home-made posters with Lennon and Bowie, which a student of an art school sold five rubles each. Here is the Tsoi-mod , living in a country where you can’t buy a damn thing: read the letter to Joanna Stingrey, in which in a decent English Vitya asks him to bring white crosses and watches of Swatch . Here is Tsoi in love: evaluate the luxurious fur coat from the raccoon and black -bitch, the presented to him by Natalia Razlogova from the first big fee. Here is Tsoi-Tourist , opening America: admire his Sony video camera and his shooting-impressions of foreign trips; Mostly it was catchy advertising. Here Tsoi on all hands of the master: look at his favorite black jacket, which he carefully sewn and, as they say, castamized. All this is another Tsoi, alive and real, is not the mysterious character of their own romantic songs. The leader of the “Kino” remains in our memory the brightest star of Russian rock, rapidly flashed and extinguished. However, we often forget that he did not manage to live the life of a star. Only a couple of years have passed from take-off to the explosion: he did not come into contact with great money and great politics. The purity of his 28-year-old soul is broadcast at this exhibition through the simplicity and innocence of the material world surrounding it.

Almost all of his artistic heritage is represented in the arena - from a self -portrait made during the time of study at the school, and funny NECS to late paintings, in which the plot of the highway and the driver at the wheel persistently arise. The leader of Kino, who painted from childhood, was seriously treated this side of his creative life and was not going to throw art for music - having moved to Moscow to Natalia Razlogova, he just began to write on canvas and even brought acrylic paint from the states. Perhaps he was on the verge of synthesizing his own style-somewhere between pop art , graffiti, the new bast and the new academicism of Timur Novikov. The graphic and picturesque works of Tsoi is dedicated to a separate hall, which was oversaw the Rosiso Center. Apparently, for the transmitting contrast with the rest of the project, striving to amaze the viewer with architectural solutions and multimedia effects, this one is made in a boring traditional manner: white walls, dense weighting, mean comments. No show and interactive, except for the stand with Neck, which is bashfully hidden from minors behind a roll curtain, because one of the bone figurines depicts a monk with an erected phallus.

Nevertheless, this is an exhibition-blockbuster, an exhibition-attraction. Its creators wanted not only to visitors to look at Viktor Tsoi from unexpected angles, but also that they would take a selfie and storiz. For these purposes, special halls are built here-for example, Kamchatka, telling about the work of a rocker in a stoker and similar to a cave of horror from a lunar park , or an installation dedicated to the inconsistent Cyberpankovo Film Project "Citadel of Death" (this is a continuation of the "needle" in which Tsoi-Moro was supposed to play the leader of the rebels in the capitalist Leningrad), or a strange “space” pavilion, where Tsoi is represented by a star, around which the planets-people rotate, which were close to him. However, the leader of Kino loved the mass culture - most likely, he would like it.
Without halls for selfie now, but the exhibition “Victor Tsoi. The hero’s path ”leads to serious thoughts. For example, what he was for the hero and whether he is appropriate in the present time. The creators of the exhibition have a conversation about this from the very beginning. “He was neither a political tribune, nor the creator tormented by doubts, had nothing to do with the culture of martyrdom or amazing and was more confident in his position than his own value,” the text preceding the exposition reports.

Hero path "Tsoi was really not a dissident and did not go into politics, but on the contrary, ironized his colleagues who tried to make social rock. It is known that in the song “We are waiting for change”, he put the wrong revolutionary meaning that others considered in it. Death took him on the threshold of powerful historical shocks that occurred with our country, and he, without taking part in them, remained sinless, immaculate, saints. This is exactly what makes him a unique hero of the Russian pop culture , whose songs still unite people of different ages and political views. Tsoi did not have time to play for Stalin, or for Yeltsin, or for Putin, or for Navalny - and, quite possibly, even now, if he were alive, he would not have joined any of the parties, even virtual. But his phrase “If I could choose citizenship, I would choose Disneyland’s passport”, put into a running line in one of the halls of the exhibition, now, when the possibility of a new world war is being discussed from all sides, it sounds a political manifesto.
