The regional version of the “Nose” award called “Volga/Nos” arose in 2018 and was held in Nizhny Novgorod together with the Volga-Vyatka branch of the Pushkin Museum (GCC Nizhny Novgorod-Arsenal). In 2021, the award moved to Yekaterinburg, receiving a new name - “Wanderer/nose”. It is understood that the bonus will continue to wander around Russia. Like the flagship “nose”, “wanderer/nose” is the only literary prize in Russia, the jury of which discusses its choice publicly. Both the short list and the winner are determined during the series of open debate.
The meaning of the project is decentralization of the literary process. The jury of the Wanderer/nose prize is discussing a new literature in different cities of Russia, involving the local community in the discussion.
