The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the termination of Deutsche Welle in Russia. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.
The department announced the closure of the correspondent office of the TV channel in Russia, the annulment of journalists' accreditations, and the termination of Deutsche Welle satellite broadcasting. In addition, the ministry initiated the procedure for recognizing the TV channel as a "foreign agent".
The Foreign Ministry explained its decision as "a response to Germany's measures against RT DE." Also in Russia, a list of representatives of state and public structures of Germany involved in restricting the work of RT DE will be formed. People caught in it will be banned from entering Russia.
On February 4, Deutsche Welle confirmed the closure of the Moscow office.
