The court rendered a verdict in the case of the “Kan teenagers”

The First Eastern District Military Court at an off-site meeting in Krasnoyarsk in the framework of the case of "Kan teenagers" sentenced Nikita Uvarov to five years in prison under the article on teaching terrorism (Article 205.3 of the Criminal Code), illegal manufacture of explosives (Part 2 of Article 223.1 of the Criminal Code) and their storage (part 2 of article 222.1 of the Criminal Code). Bogdan Andreev and Denis Mikhailenko were released from criminal liability under the article on teaching terrorism, as they assisted the investigation, but under two other articles they were given four and three years of probation, respectively. It is reported by Mediazona.

The prosecutor's office asked to appoint Uvarov, whom the investigation considered the leader in the company, nine years in a colony, Andreev - six and a half, Mikhailenko - six years and five months.

According to investigators, from October 2019 to June 2020, minors united and began to independently learn how to make and use explosive devices, training to use them in abandoned buildings and on wastelands.

For the first time, teenagers came to the attention of law enforcement agencies after posting leaflets in support of the arrested anarchist and mathematician Azat Miftakhov : they pasted one of them on the FSB building. The schoolchildren were detained and soon released, with their phones confiscated. Having gained access to the teenagers' correspondence, the security forces learned that the schoolchildren had built the FSB building in the Minecraft computer game and were going to blow it up as a joke.

The defendants were detained in the summer of 2020, when they were only 14 years old. From the moment of detention until May 2021, Uvarov was in a pre-trial detention center. The other two defendants in the case were under house arrest for about a year.

Initially, they were accused of participating in a terrorist community (Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code), but in March 2021, the Investigative Committee closed the case due to the lack of corpus delicti. After that, the teenagers were released with a measure of restraint in the form of a ban on certain actions.
