In the nineties and 2000s, the Tireless club had a certain influence on the political and business atmosphere in the city, and today the very existence and activities of the club can already be considered legendary, if only because it will no longer be possible to repeat it or create something similar.
The initiator of the creation of the club in 1992 was Viktor Mikhailovich Mosolov, at that time the head of the municipal enterprise Vodokanal. V. Mosolov was supported by his friends and like-minded people. One of them, Alexander Potapov, said: “We set the task to try to unite business leaders and businessmen in the city and Ramensky district to solve political, financial and economic problems in the context of the beginning of collapse and devastation in the country, as well as to maintain their sports shape and health by jointly practicing badminton and football.” Among the pioneers of the club were Viktor Mosolov, Alexander Potapov, Viktor Pronin, Sergei Kudryashov, Yuri Korshunov, as well as badminton coaches Vladimir Degtyarev and Irina Kazakova.

The location of the club was building No. 2 of the Meteor Sports House on the street. Chkalov, in which V. Degtyarev and I. Kazakova led the badminton section. But it was not possible to start classes right away: the hall was cold, the light was poor, the locker rooms were neglected, the premises had not been renovated for a long time, and there were mountains of construction waste around the building. Therefore, the activities of the club, called “Tireless,” began with the creation of normal conditions for training, the club renovated the hall and locker rooms, installed a modern lighting system, and to preserve heat it was necessary to block the windows; in addition, several dozen KamAZ trucks of garbage were removed from the territory.
The club was quickly replenished with supporters, including not only men V. Samonov, G. Levit, A. Shitov, I. Yudin, G. Krasnikov, but also women: Nadezhda Yurevich, Olga Rybkina, Irina Koltakova and many others. Thanks to the professionalism of V. Degtyarev and I. Kazakova, everyone became interested in badminton, and even football, the most popular game in the country, found itself in the background. Although a goal was specially purchased for him, which Viktor Mosolov, wearing a T-shirt with his favorite number 13, defended and led the game of his team.
“Tireless” not only played for fun in the gym, but also supported SC “Meteor”. They built a center for the recovery of athletes after training and competitions. The equipment in the badminton section was updated, and a video camera was purchased to record and analyze the training process. In addition, members of the “Tireless” club began to provide financial support to young badminton players, promising and rapidly progressing. In the late 90s, A. Potapov donated 17 different simulators worth several million rubles to IC Meteor. With the help of the club, the territory of the sports complex was maintained in proper condition in the winter. The club even expressed a desire to build a new sports hall between the first and second buildings, but unresolved property problems in this area stopped the implementation of the plan.

Over the 30 years of the club’s existence, a lot has been done and a lot has changed. The TsAGI administration did not allow the club to conduct training in the gym, which did not collapse, thanks to the club, but classes continue at the Max Arena sports complex. Unfortunately, years and illnesses take their toll, and we have lost many friends, including Ulyanov V.V., Vanchurkina Yu.I., Yudin I.A., Mosolov V.M., Ignatov V.M., Markovets A.A., Degtyarev V.A., Korshunova Yu.A., Ivanova A.A., Titov V.M., Shitov A.D., Dmitrievsky V.N., Ratsutsky E.M., Lyamtsev V.A. May they be remembered; they will forever be in our hearts.”
“When I came here,” answered Viktor Alekseevich , “Vladimir Degtyarev showed me how to hold a racket, then he quickly taught me that badminton is not fun on the beach, but a serious game, and I promised myself that I would stay in badminton. And he stayed from 1992 until 2022, during which time he went from being a beginner to becoming the chairman of the Moscow Region Badminton Federation and vice-president, first deputy of the Russian National Badminton Federation. I would like to report that over the past four years, the Moscow Region badminton federation has gone from lagging behind to becoming the best in Russia in 2021, that for the first time the Moscow Region team became the champion of Russia, and three of its students became European champions in the Russian team.

Using our club as an example, I want to say that badminton brings people together remarkably well, we don’t just play together, we live the game, we’ve been living life as a team for 30 years. Everyone has different areas of activity and interests, but once we come together on the site, we haven’t lost each other for 30 years. Badminton has opened up new facets of life for us, we have become better, kinder, more sociable.
I want to express my gratitude to the leadership of the city, in which badminton has become one of the basic sports, and in the newly built sports and recreation center there will be a special hall for badminton. Badminton is everything for us!

Olga Rybkina: In 1996, Viktor Mikhailovich invited me to the club, and since then I have been here. The club gave friends and communication, gave energy not only physical, but moral, human and spiritual support. Just look at us. Having met on the site, we continued to communicate outside of it. It’s good that in both joy and sorrow there is always someone to call, share, even provide help or receive it, knowing for sure that they will help me.

Irina Koltakova , at the club since 1997: “I would like to say that the club is so many years old, and we come to the site, and for us, as if time had stopped, everyone is the same, and our communication is just as emotional, joyful and pleasant. We meet, sometimes without seeing each other for a long time, but it’s as if we parted yesterday, experiencing the same warmth from the meeting. Unfortunately, our ranks have thinned, but their memory lives on, and we meet, including on memorable dates. Here, we look at an old group photo and sing: “The team of our youth, the team without which we cannot live!”
Nadezhda Yurevich , who came to the club in the summer of 1992, was literally interrupted by her friends Olga and Irina in her breath: “We must definitely mention our Nadezhda, such a good organizer and moderator that after 30 years of coordinating all our events, she never forgets anything or anyone. We do a lot of things well thanks to her.”
Nadezhda herself said: “As you get older, it’s harder to force yourself to do something, and you get more pleasure from life when you’re in good shape, and this helps in everything you do in life. In the club we not only train, those with whom we have been side by side for 30 years are already like family, and the club has brought us closer together - we have common interests, games, meetings, communication. We are experiencing losses hard, but we must live. A lot of new, young, interesting guys have come to the club, and we hope for a half-century anniversary!
Sergei Korolev : “I have been in the club since its founding, since 1992, Vitya Molosov brought us together to play sports, and also to help each other in work and in life. We found mutual understanding, and sports activities brought us together. My Artem, was born in the same 1992 and has been in the club since childhood.
Sergey Shukhov , entrepreneur: “I loved sports all my life, in our time everyone was involved in game sports, but I never played badminton, and I became interested in it in a club about five years ago, already as an adult. When you play on the court with people who are 20 years older than you, and you see that they are in good shape, energetic and active, then this motivates, this is an example of love of life. God bless everyone.

Lev Alexandrov , doctor of the DEMA Center:
The Tireless Club is a wonderful organization where like-minded people gather to spend their weekends healthy and healthy.
