In India at the age of 69, the singer and composer Bappy Lahiri died. This was reported by Press Trust of India (PTI) with reference to the statement of the director of the clinic, where Lahiri was treated.

The cause of the death of the musician was the syndrome of obstructive apnea of ​​sleep .

In the early 1970s, Lahiri began working in Bollywood. He is considered a composer, thanks to which disco music appeared in Indian films. In the press, heis called the “disco king” of Bollywood.

Among the most famous films, the music for which Lahiri wrote were “Disco dancer” (1982), “Dance, Dance” (1987), “Love, Love, Love” (1989). Lahiri often performed his songs in films.

The composers were accused of copying the melodies of popular Western performers, including Ottawan, Modern Talking, Pink Floyd. At the same time, in 2003, he won the court of the American rapper Dr. Dre, who accused of using one of his compositions.

Lahiri was known not only to his music, but also by his own way. He often wore dark glasses, gold chains and bracelets in public. Lahiri associated his love of gold with the enthusiasm of the work of the American singer Elvis Presley, who also often wore gold jewelry.
