In Moscow, political scientist Valery Soloviev, together with his son, was taken to the Investigative Committee as witnesses in a criminal case. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to his wife.
According to RT and Znak , a case was opened against him under Part 2 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting hatred or enmity). Under this article, a political scientist can face up to six years in prison.
Earlier, Sota reported , citing politician Elvira Vikhareva, that Nightingale's house had been searched. He and his son were detained, and all the equipment was confiscated from the family. Vikhareva also confirmed this information to Novaya Gazeta. In addition, she said that they came to her today on the same case, but did not specify on which one.
The political scientist's wife, Svetlana , specified that the search took place from early morning until three in the afternoon in the absence of a lawyer. A lawyer in the UK was allowed to see Nightingale himself and his son. The political scientist's wife explained that she could not read the article on which a criminal case was initiated, as she had signed a non-disclosure agreement.
There is no official information about the initiation of a criminal case yet.
Nephew of Valery Solovey Fedor, who works as an editor of the Match TV channel, told the We Can Explain telegram channel that he, too, was searched.
“They took away all computers, phones and media, including 30-year-old floppy disks and books in Ukrainian,” he said, adding that the investigative actions lasted six hours. At the same time, Fedor himself was not at home, his girlfriend remained there.
