Political scientist Valery Solovyov and his son were released from the Investigative Committee after interrogation. They are witnesses in a case of inciting hatred or hostility by an organized group (part 2 of article 282 of the Criminal Code), lawyer Alexei Dobrynin told Kommersant.

The criminal case was opened in the fall of 2021.

According to the lawyer, in the decision to conduct a search that took place in Nightingale's apartment in the morning, the "social group" against which hatred was allegedly incited refers to law enforcement agencies.

The reason for initiating the case, according to the lawyer, was the publications on the Internet, which were seen as extremism.

“The investigation used a favorite method to try to stop the dissemination of information regarding today's events: they took away a non-disclosure agreement from Valery and his son about the data of the preliminary investigation,” Dobrynin said.

He noted that such a measure can only be applied to participants in criminal proceedings, and witnesses do not apply to them. “It means that the requirement for non-disclosure of data from the preliminary investigation is also illegal,” the lawyer concluded.

Earlier, politician Elvira Vikhareva said that searches were carried out at Nightingale's house, all his equipment was confiscated. Vikhareva herself was also visited today on the same matter.

The political scientist's wife, Svetlana Solovey, specified that the search at their house took place from early morning until three in the afternoon in the absence of a defense lawyer. She also signed a non-disclosure agreement.
