This was announced today, February 18, the press service of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater reported.
Migran Agadzhanyan (b. 1992) graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory as a pianist and as an opera-symphonic conductor (2016), as a singer, he took a training course in the opera studio of the National Academy of Santa Chemical in Rome.
Since 2017, he has been the soloist of the Mariinsky Theater, in 2018 he became the laureate of the International Operaalia Opera Competition, in 2019-the laureate of the P.I. Tchaikovsky.
As the singer performed at the Metro-Opera (New York), the Royal Theater of Covent Garden (London), the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Lyon Opera, the opera of Los Angeles, and others. In 2012, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg, with which he actively toured in the cities of Russia and Europe. As a conductor, he constantly cooperates with the Mariinsky Theater. In January 2022, Migran Agadzhanyan successfully made his debut at the Perm opera remote control in the play “Bohemia” by Jakomo Puccini.

“The musical director of the Perm opera must be a young, but already quite experienced conductor, who specializes primarily in the opera repertoire and is actively included in the life of the global musical scene. Migran Agadzhanyan, with whom I collaborated from the very beginning of his career, is fully consistent with this definition. The chief conductor of the theater has to combine the solution of artistic and administrative tasks, therefore, the managerial qualities of Migran Agadzhanyan, who at the age of 19, organized a completely new creative team and successfully leading them to this day, was an important role in his appointment. ”
Also today, Perm opera plans were announced for the 151st season. The first premiere of the season will be released in November 2022 - the opera Barta Bartok “The Castle of the Duke Blue Beard”. The music director of the production will be the St. Petersburg conductor Fedor Lednev, the director will be the Laureate of the Golden Mask - 2020 Evgeny Safonova, for whom this performance will be the first experience in the music theater.
In December 2022, Anton Pimonov’s new ballet to the music of Steve Reich “The Four Section” will be shown in the same program with the premieres of William Forsyt and other classics of modern choreography in Perm.
In the spring of 2023, the premiere of the opera Giuseppe Verdi “Ball Mascarad” under the direction of the chief conductor of the theater Migran Agadzhanyan in the production of Roman Feodori is planned.
The final premiere of the season in June 2023 will be released by director Konstantin Bogomolov and conductor Philip Chizhevsky. They will put Richard Wagner in the Perm of the “Flying Dutchman”. And in July, the head of the theater ballet troupe, Anton Pimonov, will show the prime minister of the ballet “Stone Flower” by Sergey Prokofiev.
